Syrian hacker Ahmad Umar Agha, who served the Bashar Assad regime and was known online as 'The Pro,' was sentenced to 42 months in prison in the United States. He was wanted for more than a decade and participated in hacking approximately 47 Western media outlets, companies and organizations. Agha was a member of the 'Syrian Electronic Army' group, which previously hacked the IDF spokesperson's account and spread a false message about a nuclear leak in Dimona. In one of the 2013 attacks, he took control of the Associated Press Twitter account and published a fake message claiming two explosions occurred at the White House and President Barack Obama was injured.
