Tel Aviv Central Bus Station to close - temporary facility to open at Holon junction

|
The National Infrastructure Committee approved the Transportation Ministry's plan to relocate operations from Tel Aviv Central Bus Station to a temporary facility near Holon junction. The new facility, to be built on approximately 30 dunams (7.5 acres), will serve as an interim solution until a permanent transportation hub is established at the Ben Zvi complex, which is set to become the 'southern gateway terminal' of the metropolis. According to the plan, the permanent complex will integrate a train station, metro, light rail, BRT (Metronit) lines and a large bus terminal. Currently, the Central Bus Station serves about 64 municipalities across the country, and the move is designed to improve the public transportation system and reduce environmental hazards and congestion in the southern Tel Aviv area.
