Government changes Israel Prize regulations: 'Those who acted against IDF soldiers will not be eligible'

|
Education Minister Yoav Kisch has instructed the Education Ministry to publish a draft amendment to the Israel Prize regulations, which stipulates that a person who acted on their own initiative in the international arena against IDF soldiers, state institutions or the State of Israel will not be eligible to receive the prize. However, the restriction will not apply to those who ceased such activity or expressed public remorse for it. Additionally, two new prizes were announced that will be awarded from now on: a prize for groundbreaking young people under the age of 50 and a prize for Diaspora Jewry.
