Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with eight Likud local council heads, during which Local Government Association Chairman Haim Bibas raised a proposal for primaries to be held in the party, but with Netanyahu being granted 10 reserved spots. According to a source present at the meeting, other council heads presented Netanyahu with a different and unusual proposal – to cancel the upcoming primaries on a one-time basis as a temporary measure, and instead establish an organizing committee under his leadership that would determine the composition of Likud's next Knesset list. Ynet learned that Netanyahu clarified he supports Bibas' proposal, while expanding the national list to slot 35 to prevent an uprising among incumbent Knesset members.
