The Meteorological Service has warned of an extreme heat wave approaching Israel in the coming days. According to updated model forecasts, the wave will occur from Thursday and especially from the weekend into early next week, lasting about a week. Its peak will be felt between Friday and Sunday. Temperatures are expected to be 8-10 degrees higher than the average for early August, reaching close to 40 degrees in the central highlands and Jerusalem; and nearly 50 degrees in the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea region. In coastal areas and lowlands, extreme heat stress is expected due to the combination of temperature and humidity.
