The Ministry of Environmental Protection reported that mosquitoes infected with the West Nile virus were trapped in the Jezreel Valley Regional Council. The ministry instructed all local authorities, particularly the council where the carrier mosquitoes were trapped, to expand prevention, monitoring, public awareness and pest control operations, in order to reduce the risk of the spread of infected mosquitoes and protect public health.
