Israel Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson announced that after about five hours of battling the flames, the fire near Kibbutz Hukok has been contained. Northern District Fire and Rescue Commander Yair Elkayam said, "The firefighters of the Northern District are operating with very large forces and in a combined effort from the ground and air, alongside six firefighting aircraft, to stop the fire. At this stage, there is no danger to residents' homes in Hukok, after we evacuated the first row of houses and stopped the fire from spreading within the kibbutz. We have managed to gain control in the area near Lavanim, but there are still fire hotspots in open areas."
