Education Minister Yoav Kish responded to criticism from Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich regarding his support for the teachers' strike planned for Sunday. 'I received a letter from the Finance Minister that only demonstrates his complete disconnect from the crisis in the education system,' he wrote. 'This is not about a law that was agreed upon by the Teachers Union. This is about discrimination in an agreement that compensated all state employees except teachers and preschool staff. I will not support this. Instead of sending letters preparing for empty public relations, I expect you to begin real negotiations and ensure compensation for teaching staff as you did for all other general labor union workers.'
