|
The military court convicted terrorist Nadmi Abu-Bakr of intentional killing (equivalent to murder), for killing Staff Sergeant Amit Ben Yigal on May 12, 2020, during an operational activity in the village of Yabed in Samaria. According to the indictment for which he was convicted, the terrorist threw a half cinder block weighing 9-11 kg at IDF soldiers. The block struck Ben Yigal, causing his death. Abu-Bakr then fled to his apartment and pretended to be asleep to avoid arrest. He later went to the location where he threw the block, collected its fragments and threw them into vegetation at the edge of the path.
