A senior official in the U.S. State Department bypassed nine security measures designed to prevent fraud and counter terrorism last month in order to quickly approve a $30 million grant for the GHF fund, which is responsible for distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, Reuters news agency reported. According to the report, the official, Jeremy Levine, signed off on the grant despite the assessment that the fund's financing program "did not meet the minimum requirements" related to budgeting and other criteria.
