Police yesterday arrested a 43-year-old man from northern Israel and a 63-year-old woman from central Israel on suspicion of running and involvement in a network that trafficked women in Israel and abroad to employ them in providing sexual services. According to police, the two were arrested following a covert investigation conducted in recent months due to suspicions the network was "importing women from abroad, housing them in Israel and pimping them for sexual services and financial profit." During searches of the suspects' homes and apartments used for prostitution, tens of thousands of shekels in cash, a luxury car and mobile phones were seized. Additionally, a 16-year-old boy who took part in the network's activities, three women who were brought to Israel for prostitution and a client who was at one of the apartments were detained for questioning.
