Mother of kidnapped soldier Matan Englerst: 'We will not become a society accustomed to our brothers in captivity'

|
Representatives of hostage families and captivity survivors made a declaration at the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, marking 600 days since the war began. Anat Englerst, mother of kidnapped soldier Matan Englerst, addressed her son: "My beautiful child, I imagine your voice comforting me, telling me everything is okay, but I know everything is not okay and that you are suffering, tormented and in a life-threatening condition." She emphasized: "We refuse to become like the enemy, we are not sacrificing lives, we will not become a society that gets used to living with brothers suffering in captivity until they disappear forever. As it happened to us, it could happen, God forbid, to any other soldier."
