Ret. Col. Aharon 'Yalo' Shavit has passed away. During his service in the Air Force, he held a series of positions, including squadron commander, air attaché in the United States and was one of the founders of the Air Force's aerobatic team. Mayor Shmuel Bokser, Shavit's cousin, eulogized him: "Yalo was the eldest among the cousins in the Bokser family. For us, he was a hero, long before we understood the magnitude of the stories behind his name. He was one of the most prominent combat pilots in the Air Force, a brave and trailblazing pilot."
