|
The United States imposed sanctions on eight money exchange and digital currency companies in Canada, which according to the U.S. Treasury Department helped the Iranian regime and the Revolutionary Guards circumvent international sanctions and transfer funds to finance terrorism. Among the companies are Million Exchange, Amin Exchange and Farah Exchange, which according to authorities transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to digital accounts linked to the Revolutionary Guards and terrorist organizations. At the same time, Washington announced the disconnection of the international cryptocurrency exchange MEXC Global from the American financial system, after it allegedly was used to transfer at least $16 billion in illegal transactions related to Iran, Russia and North Korea, among others.
