Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon addressed the Security Council emergency session, convened following the American strike on Iran, saying in his speech that "The United States removed last night the most severe existential threat to the free world, and now the Security Council convenes to condemn it and Israel? Where were you when Iran enriched uranium, dug bunkers and prepared for our destruction? You were silent, you were cowards, you were accomplices to the crime. This is not escalation – this is the last line of defense, when everything else failed. The cost of silence would have been catastrophic – a nuclear Iran is a death sentence."
