Saleh Abu-Hussein, an Israeli citizen who was imprisoned in Lebanon for a year since July 2024, has been returned to Israel. This was announced by the Prime Minister's Office on behalf of the Hostages and Missing Persons Coordinator, Brig. Gen. (Res.) Gal Hirsch. "After negotiations that took place in recent months with the assistance of the Red Cross, the citizen was transferred at the Rosh Hanikra crossing from the Lebanese authorities. After questioning and an initial medical examination, the citizen was transferred for comprehensive tests at the hospital, after which he will meet with his family. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by security forces," the statement said. No one was released in exchange for Abu-Hussein's release.
