Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced the dissolution of the government and snap elections amid a housing crisis and public protests that erupted late last month following the eviction of an 87-year-old woman from the apartment where she had lived in Madrid for about 70 years. Sánchez, considered one of the most anti-Israel leaders in Europe, decided to advance the elections after Spain's lower house of parliament rejected on Friday a package of bills his government sought to pass in an attempt to curb the country's housing crisis. The elections, which were originally scheduled for next year, will now be held next month on November 29.
