|
The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment at the Beersheba District Court against Shug Abu Sabit, 28, from Tel Sheva, for reckless manslaughter of her 16-year-old brother and traffic police volunteer Avishai Twil, 26, in a June 2025 accident. According to the indictment, Sabit was driving at excessive speed on Route 25, and when Twil attempted to block her using a patrol car, she collided with it. As a result, she caused the death of her brother and the volunteer officer. During her investigation, she claimed she was unable to stop the vehicle, but an engineer determined it was in proper working condition.
