After four days of silence, Teachers Union Secretary-General Yafa Ben David wrote to protesting teachers following the Labor Court's ruling ordering them to return to work. According to her, the agreement reached with the Treasury regarding public sector wage cuts, including teachers, is 'the best achievable' at this time. 'What guided me throughout the negotiations was one clear principle – to minimize the impact on net wages in the coming year,' she wrote. Amid fierce criticism from teachers against Ben David and the union in general, she wrote, 'I received curses, threats against me and my family, and various attempts at extortion – all to try to drag the union into the political arena and sow anarchy and discord.'
