The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories reported that a smuggling attempt into the Gaza Strip was thwarted yesterday at Kerem Shalom, involving approximately 100 bottles of liquid nicotine, each with a volume of one and a half liters, concealed inside beverage bottles. The truck was carrying a shipment purchased by an Israeli company that was approved under the mechanism for introducing aid through the private sector and was intended to arrive as part of humanitarian aid. The truck was confiscated and transferred for further handling. Major General Yoram Halevi, head of COGAT, ordered an immediate freeze on the authorization granted to the company to bring aid into the Gaza Strip until further notice.
