Report: European Commission establishing new intelligence body

|
The European Commission has begun establishing a new intelligence service under President Ursula von der Leyen in an attempt to improve the use of information collected by national intelligence agencies. This is according to a Financial Times report, citing four people briefed on the plans. The unit, to be established within the Commission secretariat, plans to recruit officials from across the European Union's intelligence community and collect intelligence for shared purposes.
