Mandelblit replied that "no decision I made stemmed from pressure. All the decisions I made were according to my professional judgment. It is the right and duty of law enforcement officials to express their opinion if they believe an investigation should be opened. Nothing can influence me, not media pressure and not pressure from law enforcement officials."
