Netanyahu's first cross-examination day concludes

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's first day of testimony in the cross-examination phase of his corruption trial has concluded. After claiming he was a 'political corpse' following his 1999 election defeat, suggesting his ties with Arnon Milchan during that period couldn't have had political motives, prosecutors presented an excerpt from Netanyahu's book titled 'The Vision: 2002.' In it, he wrote, 'There was no doubt about my ability to return someday. My prominent presence in Israeli politics remained.' When Netanyahu maintained he 'knew he wouldn't return' to politics, prosecutor Jonathan Tadmor asked him: 'So is what's written here in your book true?' The Prime Minister responded affirmatively.
