The United States Supreme Court ruled against President Donald Trump's global tariff plan. The justices ruled 6-3 that the president overstepped his authority when he used a 1977 law designed for emergencies to impose the tariffs. The Supreme Court ruled following an appeal filed by businesses affected by tariffs and 12 U.S. states, most of them Democratic.
