El Al announced it will not operate rescue flights on the Sabbath, despite the fact that tens of thousands of Israelis are stranded abroad due to the war with Iran. "El Al does not fly on the Sabbath," the company stated. "According to the state's rescue plan, limited slots will be allocated to airlines. El Al has approached the authorities requesting that it be allocated its designated slots before the Sabbath begins and after it ends, in a manner that will allow the company to operate an airlift accordingly using its entire fleet."
