The Teachers Union announced reaching an agreement with the Ministry of Finance regarding salary cuts for teachers and kindergarten staff, describing it as an 'achievement.' 'After intensive negotiations, it was agreed that the salary reduction will be decreased from 3.307% to 0.95% from May until the end of December 2025,' the statement read. It was further noted that 'teaching staff will not be discriminated against compared to other state employees: the monthly salary reduction will range from an average of 86 shekels for a starting teacher to 270 shekels for a veteran teacher (before negotiations, the amounts were between 330 shekels on average for a starting teacher compared to 860 shekels for a veteran teacher).'
