US: 'Key participant' in 2012 Libya consulate attack arrested

|
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the FBI arrested a "key participant" in the 2012 terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in which four U.S. citizens were killed. "Zubeir al-Bakush has been extradited and arrested, and an indictment has been filed against him to the fullest extent of the law," Bondi said. "He will face charges related to, among other things, murder, terrorism and arson." The attack killed, among others, U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, when at least 20 gunmen armed with Kalashnikov rifles and grenades breached the compound's gate and set fire to buildings.
