Law Reducing Teacher Salary Cuts Passes Second and Third Readings

|
The Knesset plenum approved legislation in second and third readings that will reduce salary cuts for teaching staff. The bill regarding participation of public service employees and officials passed with support from 19 Knesset members, with no opposition. The bill was approved based on recent agreements reached between the Teachers Union and the Ministry of Finance, despite opposition from ultra-Orthodox parties who claimed the law discriminates against ultra-Orthodox teachers not included in the agreement.
