Italy announced it is suspending agreements with Spain under the Schengen Agreement, which allows free movement between 29 European Union countries that signed it without passport controls. The decision was made after about 60,000 illegal migrants infiltrated from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in North Africa. Although Italy does not share a land border with Spain, the decision will affect those traveling between the countries by plane or ship. The Italian Interior Ministry also announced that it was agreed to strengthen the border with France.
