The Criminal Department of the State Prosecutor's Office has informed the families of the Tzafit Stream disaster victims of its intention to appeal both the verdict and sentence of Bnei Zion pre-military seminary director Yuval Kahan and educational director Aviv Bardichev, who were sentenced last month to seven years in prison for negligent manslaughter. The prosecution's statement noted that "the indictment attributed more serious offenses to the defendants, but the court ultimately convicted them only of negligent manslaughter. The prosecution had requested 12 years imprisonment for each defendant."
