Israel's ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, is on his way home from the U.S. after learning that his son Neriya is the victim wounded in the attack on Route 443. He wrote on X that "Neriya continued to serve in the reserves after losing his eldest brother Moshe Yedidya Leiter, may God avenge his blood, and he has done hundreds of days of reserve duty on various fronts since October 7. Palestinian terror aims to uproot the people of Israel from their land. They choose death - we choose life." He also wrote: "Neriya needs a miracle. I am grateful to the IDF and to the medical team at Shaare Zedek fighting now for the life of Neriya Dov ben Chana and for the prayers of the people of Israel."
