German Foreign Minister Johann Wadfull stated during his meeting with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa'ar that "Berlin must continue supplying weapons to Israel." According to him, recognition of a Palestinian state would be a "bad sign." Earlier, Wadfull reiterated the call to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza and recommended that the European Union "maintain the association agreement with Israel."
