The woman and her daughter were killed as they tried to get into their car shortly after midnight, CNN-Turk television reported.
Five other people who were also leaving the wedding party were injured in the blast in Pendik, on the outskirts of Istanbul, the station reported.
There was no immediate word on what caused the explosion. Kurdish, leftist and militant Islamic groups have carried out bombings in Istanbul in the past.
On Tuesday, two explosions in trashcans in the popular resort city of Antalya slightly injured nine people. Police said those blasts could have been caused by bombs or exploding aerosol cans.
The blasts come as Kurdish guerrillas have stepped up their attacks in recent months.
The bloodiest blast was in mid-July, when an explosion on a minibus in the Aegean resort town of Kusadasi killed five people, including a British woman tourist and an Irish teenager.
Since May more than 50 rebels and 30 soldiers have been killed in fighting.
