The prosecution filed an indictment at the Haifa District Court against Zaki Salama, a 33-year-old city resident, on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with intent, weapons offenses and obstruction of justice. According to the indictment, following an earlier dispute, Salama arrived at a kiosk in the city on April 18, armed with an unlicensed pistol and ammunition. During a confrontation that developed at the scene, he fired at several people and wounded two of them – one critically, who remained paralyzed in the lower half of his body. After the incident, Salama tried to hide the pistol and discarded the hoodie he was wearing.
