Hizbullah drone downed, booby-trapped truck destroyed by IDF

IDF forces destroy truck filled with explosives apparently on its way to explode near border; IAF shoots down Hizbullah drone on Lebanese territory, another crashes near Tyre
Hanan Greenberg|Updated:
Just hours before the ceasefire isexpected to go into effect, Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah
planned last-minuteattacks on Israeli Sunday.
IDF forces operating north of Metula on the Lebanese side of the border located a truck filled with explosives; military officials estimate terrorists planned to detonate the truck near the Lebanon-Israel border. The soldiers attacked the truck and it was destroyed inside Lebanese territory.
Earlier on Sunday a Hizbulllah drone crashed, apparently due to a malfunction, near the Lebanese city of Tyre, while another was shot down by the IAF over south Lebanon.
Hizbullah is in possession of several Mirsad-type drones, some of which were flown over Israel on a number of occasions. Sunday’s incident marked the fourth time a Hizbullah drone has infiltrated Israeli skies in the past two years; just last week the IAF shot down adrone just 10 kilometers (about six miles)off the coast northwest of Haifa. The drone, which was not booby-trapped, was heading south when it was spotted by IAF forces.
Security officials estimate that the previous attempt to fly a drone over Israel was carried out by Hizbullah as part of its psychological warfare efforts.
