Inbar Ben Simon, representing the wives of reserve soldiers, Lt. Col. Fayez Fares, an IDF commander from the Druze community, and Reserve Lt. Col. Hagit Alon Alcharar, a senior officer in the Logistics Corps, lit the IDF torch at the ceremony on Mount Herzl. Inbar Ben Simon said: 'I light this torch in honor of the spouses of career and reserve soldiers who guard their homes and families with courage and boundless acceptance.' Fayez Fares said: 'I light this torch in honor of the heroes, IDF soldiers and commanders, for the determination, fighting spirit and bravery they showed on the battlefield.'
