Police recently investigated the distribution of a pornographic video featuring a female student of a religious high school in the Negev.
The student, who is shown in the video having intercourse with one of her male schoolmates, was shocked to find it on the ICQ internet chat network.
The affair began when the religious student reportedly asked her friends to film her with a mobile phone camera having sex in the school's bathroom, but when the video was circulated on the Net, she claimed that it was shot against her will, prompting a police investigation.
However, investigators found that it was indeed the female student who had requested that the video be made and, as the distribution of such a video does not constitute a criminal offense, proceeded to transfer the case to welfare authorities without pressing any criminal charges.
The student was eventually expelled from school and underwent psychiatric evaluation.
