Wife of Omri Miran: 'The fighting was right above his head. He saw and heard us in Gaza'

|
In a statement from Ichilov Hospital, the wife of hostage survivor Omri Miran, Lishay, said that "Yesterday Roni and Alma met their father for the first time after 738 difficult, painful and tormenting days. I want to tell everyone watching in Israel that this moment wouldn't have happened without you. To every person who took to the streets, who volunteered, who supported us families – when you look at the pictures and videos, know that this moment belongs to you too. We still have so much to process and learn, but I can already tell you that Omri saw us, heard us, and that we were like air to breathe for him, even in the most terrible moments when he thought it was the end – and there were many of those. In recent weeks, the fighting was taking place right above Omri's head in Gaza. Fortunately, we managed to reach an agreement before what could have been a bitter and terrible end."
