The Interior Ministry announced a change in the municipal status of Givat Ze'ev Local Council to a city. The move was examined by the Geographic Committee for Municipal Status Change. According to the committee's findings, Givat Ze'ev Local Council currently has approximately 25,000 residents and is experiencing significant development, among the highest in Israel.
