A Fatah member of the Palestinian Legislative Council was convicted on Wednesday of having been an accomplice in suicide bombing in Tel Aviv five years ago in which an Israeli woman was killed.
According to the indictment, the suicide bomber that blew himself up in a coffee shop in the city in March 2002 made his way to Israel from the Nablus home of PLC member Jamal Tirawi.
Tirawi is convicted of the deliberate murder of Rachel Tcherkhi, an Israeli woman who died in the attack.
The Fatah member is also accused of recruiting potential suicide bombers.
Tirawi was arrested three months ago in Nablus' Balate refugee camp along with three members of Fatah's military wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade.
