Ben-Eliezer, speaking during the national emergency drill held in Israel during the week, warned Iran any such strike would carry "severe repercussions"; and added that the drill "does not simulate a fictitious situation. I think the future will be much harder that the reality we are familiar with."
Khazaee filed the letter with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, noting that Ben-Eliezer's remarks were "another example of the aggressive, terrorist nature of the Zionist regime"; and called on the UN Security Council to take action.
A lack of action, he warned, "will encourage Israel to continue its dangerous policy of threats." Khazaee further demanded the UN order Israel to stop making threats against UN members.
"I would like to inform you that Israel in again making blunt threats against the Iranian nation," wrote Khazaee. "The disgraceful remarks made by the Israeli minister of infrastructure are a breach of international laws and several sections of the United Nations Convention, which relate to countries' need to refrain from using threats of force against the territorial integrity or sovereignty on other nations."
This is the fourth letter of protest filed against Israel by Iran in the last two years.
