Police arrested a 26-year-old Yavne resident on suspicion of attacking and stabbing a couple of beachgoers in front of their children at the Surfers Beach near the Dolphinarium in Tel Aviv last Friday. Yesterday, a serious indictment and request for detention until the end of proceedings were filed against him. According to the indictment, the suspect approached the woman for a conversation. When her partner intervened, he spat at the couple, threatened them and said: "If you start with a married woman, you need to murder the husband." He then pulled out a utility knife and attempted to stab the couple. He managed to cause a superficial cut to the woman's abdomen, who was lightly injured. His detention has been repeatedly extended, and yesterday the Tel Aviv District Prosecution Unit filed an indictment charging him with assault by an armed offender, possession of a knife, assault and threats.
