A 20-year-old Israeli was stabbed on the road linking Har Gilo to Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, in an area known as al-Walajeh.
Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the young man to the Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem in moderate condition.
The identity of the assailant is unknown at present time. The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain unclear, but there may be a nationalistic motive behind it.
A young Arab man stabbed 86-year-old Avraham Ozeri to death in the Gilo neighborhood several weeks ago. A police officer was also wounded in the attack. Police determined that the stabber, 21-year-old
Muhammed al-Baden, had apparently acted alone. This despite the fact that his family is affiliated with the Islamic Jihad
Several days later a 20-year-old Arab youth tried to stab an Israel Nature and National Parks Service inspector in Jerusalem's Yad Avshalon neighborhood, near the Mount of Olives.
The inspector drew his weapon and was able to overpower his assailant, unharmed.
