Elite unit left out: Tensions in police leadership following Military Advocate General investigation

|
In the shadow of the investigation into former Chief Military Advocate General, Major General Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, internal tensions are intensifying between two central bodies involved in the police: Lahav 433 and the Investigations and Intelligence Division. This was learned by ynet from several senior police officials. Immediately after receiving the initial information regarding the case, Commander Manny Benjamin, head of Lahav 433 - the elite unit that handles sensitive cases and investigations of public officials - requested to manage the case. However, the head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division, Commander Boaz Belet, made the unusual decision to establish a special investigation team that will operate under his direct command, without transferring the case to Lahav 433.
