Teen killed in bus shooting near Arab town

Shots fired at school bus travelling near Taibeh. Teen critically wounded, later pronounced dead at hospital; another youth sustains light injuries. Police arrest three Jaljulia teens, say brawl between students over a girl possible motive
Raanan Ben-Zur|Updated:
A 15-year-old boy was killed Thursday afternoon and another teenager sustained moderate wounds when shots were fired at a school bus traveling near the Israeli Arab town of Taibeh.
The critically injured teen, who was identified as Amjad Shahavan, arrived at a clinic in Kfar Kassem with bullet wounds in the back and chest. Magen David Adom crews later evacuated him to the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, where he was pronounced dead. The moderately injured youth was also evacuated to a hospital.
The other students on the bus were treated for shock.
A report of the shooting was received at around 3:40 pm; large police forces, as well as Magen David Adom emergency services personnel were dispatched to the scene.
So far police have arrested five teens from Jaljulia in connection with the shooting. Investigators believe a brawl that erupted two days ago between students over a girl may have led to the attack on the bus.
