Four women who gave birth at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital were infected with the virulent Streptococcus A bacteria in the past month, ynet has learned. One of the women was hospitalized in intensive care, sedated and ventilated. The case was reported to the Health Ministry. Hadassah claims that all staff members of the delivery room unit were tested and sampled for the bacteria but tested negative. The hospital stated that "all four were treated at Hadassah with medication (without any need for surgeries) and were discharged home feeling well, with their babies healthy and sound."
