Serial rapist Benny Sela was placed in solitary confinement at the Nitzan Prison Wednesday after he committed a lewd act in front of a female prison guard.
It is estimated that Sela will be indicted over the act.
The incident occurred when Sela went for his daily walk in the prison yard. A female guard noticed that Sela was staring at her, and then exposed his genitals. She alerted other guards, who apprehended the convict, covered him up and placed him in solitary confinement.
Sela normally shares a cell with another inmate.
In 1999 Sela was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the rape and sexual assault of 14 women. In late 2006 he escaped from a Tel Aviv courthouse but was caught in northern Israel two weeks later following a nationwide manhunt.
