Hamas' military wing Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades on Wednesday published video footage documenting the Gaza border clash in which Major Eliraz Peretz and Staff-Sergeant Ilan Sviatkovsky were killed.
The video was released following a media battle between the Islamic Jihad's militarywing al-Quds Brigades, which claimed responsibility for the soldiers' death, and Hamas 'military wing, which also claimed to have masterminded the incident.

Hamas now published the video in an attempt to prove that "Palestinian resistance exists, and can hurt the enemy."
Members of the organization said the chain of events documented in the video is commensurate with the IDF's version as well as the testimony of one of the injured soldiers who witnessed the incident.
Hamas sources added that "the video was meant for all those voices who claim Hamas has abandoned the struggle for resistance ever since it became the ruling party."
"We proved that we are able to simultaneously take up arms and build Palestinian society," a group member said.
