Macron: Iran must commit to renouncing nuclear weapons. I demanded the president release 2 of our citizens

|
French President Emmanuel Macron reported that he spoke with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, the Sultan of Oman, the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Prince of Qatar, "to express our solidarity," in his words. He added that he appealed to the Iranian president demanding the release of two French citizens, Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris: "Following the attacks at night, I called for de-escalation and maximum restraint from Iran, to allow a return to the diplomatic path. Dialogue, a clear commitment from Iran to renounce nuclear weapons - or risk the worst-case scenario for the entire region. This is the only way to peace and security for all."
