The Ombudsman for Complaints Against Judges, Asher Kolah, published two decisions that were made, one of which deals with a complaint against Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit. According to the complainants, Amit's statement during a High Court hearing that some ultra-Orthodox individuals hold both a kosher phone and a smartphone simultaneously hurt the feelings of many in the ultra-Orthodox community. In examining the complaint, the president sought to clarify that his remarks during the hearing were not intended to offend the sector, but rather to address a factual issue that arose in the proceeding. Kolah noted that the president believes it would have been better if his words had been phrased and expressed differently, and he regrets that his words hurt the feelings of the complainants or others in this context.
